This is such a wonderful book! She paints such a wonderful picture of Alaska in pretty much all her books (or where ever the book is based, the portrait of where you are is so vivid, it's like you're there!). The mystery factor is excellent, very intense, but not scary like John Saul. Wonderful details about the Iditarod, all kinds facts about what it's like to be on the trail! VERY HIGHLY RECCOMENDED ALL OF THE SERIES!

A twisting turning mystery
In this nicely developed story, there is a chilling, twisting, thread to the mystery of who ithe killer is on the Iditarod Trail, and the large question of WHY are the murders being comitted. The story contains: a little romance; a bit of history; believable characters and character interactions; believable dilemmas and events; an unpredictible conclusion. This book was difficult to put down and so well written that in a warm house I had to wrap a blanket around me to keep out the artic chill.

Outstanding!!!!
I live in Tok, Alaska and most Alaskan books are horribly exaggerated. She is a true Alaskan and makes you feel like you are really here following Jessie on the trail. Her books are so wonderful that you won?t be able to put it down and most of all you will want to jump right into her next book. I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a mystery.
