Yes, a woman police inspector and her subordinate seem to have caught a parolee red-handed with the murder gun, standing over the body of a dead man. Considered a bit balmy in the head to begin with, he appears absolutely beyond any doubt guilty, that is until he weaves a very interesting tale involving his parole psychiatrist, which leads to a surprise ending. Standard police murder stuff, but not a bad read.
