This is the 3rd book in Anne George?s SOUTHERN SISTERS series. I always thought sisters were rather boring; Anne George brings sisterhood to a whole new level of wackiness. Mary Alice and Patricia Ann are priceless.
On the negative side, this was rather predictable. I also found the transfer of most of the information via telephone to be tiresome.
Originally, I picked this story up because it was about genealogy ? something I?ve been working on for years. Drat, I didn?t learn how to work my way through any brick walls (genealogy term for an impediment to finding the facts you need -- a brick wall. When a researcher gets to a dead-end, he says he?s reached a brick wall. He cannot find what he needs to continue his research).
I was intrigued when Meg Bryan, a genealogist at the wedding of Mary Alice?s daughter, Debbie, referred to her profession as ?dog-eat-dog.? My experience with genealogy and genealogists is different -- the people who pursue genealogy are great about sharing. I just had to find out why Mrs. Bryan felt the way she did about her profession.
Other than the antics of the two sisters, this story was unremarkable. All of the regular characters (secondary) are well drawn; it?s a joy to see them in action.
