Kendra, divorced, lives alone with her adored Irish Setter, Casey, has a busy career and many supportive friends but no solid relationship with a good man. Then she meets a private detective, Walt, while they try to locate the abducted children of her client. Kendra is kidnapped by the bad guys who have been terrorizing the agents in the California desert community where Kendra lives and works. She suffers a horrifying experience in captivity. Eventually there is a trial where she is the primary witness. Her relationship with Walt grows into a strong commitment. The local real estate agents begin to relax but will never forget the fearful events that took away their sense of security in their lives as hard-working professionals.
