In her new book, Mujeres de la Patria, Contribuci???n de la mujer a la independencia de Cuba, she researches the role Cuban women played before and during the Cuban wars of Independence. Fernandez-Soneira believes that no story written about Cuba is complete without including the contributions of its women and almost two thousand are included in her eight year study. This work consistes of two volumes: volumen I covers the initial stages of conspiracies and the War of 1868 until the Zanjon Pact; In volumen II (still in preparation) the War of 1895, exile and the desired Independence will be covered.
