Edward's father has included some provisos in his Will that if Edward doesn't marry before the end of the Season; the estate will fall to his nephew, with his brother-in-law, acting on his behalf. However Christopher, Viscount Hawthorne is a gambler and a wastrel and Warrender would be ruined if it was to fall into his hands. Edward must marry to save his estate, but all he can think about is a pair of grey eyes and slim figure in the madness of Waterloo and the battle to save Hougoumont Farm.
