I read both of Connell's books, "Mrs. Bridge" and "Mr. Bridge" and enjoyed them. It was like' reading' snapshots in a family's album in prewar Kansas. The chapters are very short, but slowly tell the story of this one wealthy family from Mission Hills, KS. There is no big plot, nothing really awful happens, but you do get a sense of what life was like during that time of our country's history. I have recommended this to many people already.
