On an otherwise blank preliminary page, there are a two-line gift note by the upper edge and in the centre a previous owner's book plate. There is a small book shop sticker by the lower corner of the rear paste-down and above it, written small, 1st ed-scarce. Decorative cloth, gilt, rubbed in one small place on the spine, cloth worn at the corners, rubbed at the spine head and foot.
