Hi fellow musicians; I play accordion and guitar, so I ordered this book not knowing precisely what to expect, and was surprised in two ways- it IS small, and for a little book, it packs a wallop. Physically it is a little smaller than the ubiquitious Gideon Bibles that are spread across the land, but a lot more useful! Unlike some other small music books I have purchased (like the Best Little Fake Book) which may have 2 or 3 songs on each page ( and should be advertised: But wait! If you order right now, we'll include this handy high powered magnifying glass so you can actually READ the music! ) this book has a number of songs that are complete on 2 facing pages, although there are some that require 3 or 4 pages. This brings up the fact that it can be difficult to find a way to keep the book open to the page(s) you need, which necessitates either memorizing the song, which I am not very good at, or turning pages yourself or having an assistant to do so. I have also seen folks scan in the pages, then rearrange to have them all on just 1 or 2 pages, but I don't know if that is legal or not. The selections are great and most arrangements are relatively simple. Each song has the piano music, lyrics and the name of the guitar chords,i.e., B7, A, C#, etc. Although I am accomplished enough as a musician to know most of the common chords, and I have chord charts and books handy, I still like the "crutch" of having the chord diagram present, which most of the books I buy have. The only other drawback I can think of is it has the typical binding, glued I guess, and so it is only a matter of time before the pages start coming loose and getting lost, but since these books are typically just $3-5, you can just buy another one, or maybe by that time you will have memorized the songs and won't need the book anymore... and please, if you have sheet music, songbooks or whatever that are no longer useful to you, PLEASE don't just throw them away. Find a friend to give them to, or call your local music school or store and offer them so someone else can learn, too. ON A LETTER GRADE SCALE, OF A-F, I would rate this book an A-. Peace and Blessings Brother Robert
