Seller's Description:
Good. This is the 1885 edition of the Fairbanks and Palmer Publishing Co of Chicago edition, no indication of what printing. Red fabric bound hardcover boards still very flat, edges worn through at bottom near spine, tiny chunk missing near back top as some pet took a liking for it, corners are bowed and worn through. Spine is worn, small tears at top and bottom, 1 inch tear along front of spine at bottom exposing binding. Title on spine is faded but still legible, front cover is in better shape, embossing still good, picture of 3 small children in bonnets. Hinges are gutters good, still well attached to binding, which is Smyth sewn. Only issue is a split line along pages 289 to 291 exposing some binding along the top half, page 289 is loose along the top. Pages have a small bookplate on the inside front cover, are rather roughly and unevenly bound, somewhat yellowed towards the edges, but otherwise unmarked or folded.
