English summary: The friendships of Eduard Friedrich Morike were intense and, as a rule, life-long; he sought with his friends, the majority of whom were poets or writers, the commonality of thought and feeling. It is notable that almost all of Morike's friends belonged to the liberal opposition movement, or at least were often in sympathy with it. Many were members of student fraternities and a few were prosecuted and imprisoned for their revolutionary convictions. Today, it is no longer contentious to state that Morike was also close to the liberal movement and welcomed the revolutions of 1848. Morike's poems and narratives give evidence about this aspect of his life through poetic references, imagery, allusions, and puns. At the same time, however, his position was also marked with a deep skepticism about political actions and the various effects of that political action could have. This book undertakes the task of ascertaining Morike's difficult position with regard to his friendships and the influence of his friends.
