Ordered this book new so I could give it as a present. Neither looked nor felt new. Cover and page edges not crisp. Permanent crease-like bend on lower right side that can be seen and easily felt from the front cover and through every page to the back cover. Mark on front cover. Did not ask Beach Wood Books to try again because it was too late to make the date. Whether it was Beach Wood Books or book just not tough enough, couldn't give as a gift -- very disappointed.
Book info, though, excellent. Extensive and very detailed -- easy to decide whether you wanted to take a trail based on trail's natural features and difficulty.
Would like authors to write a new book with fewer trails and added trail maps and elevation information.
In the meantime, this is definitely the book that we'll have close by during our California travels. Will get lots of use.
