A heavy pressure of other work has made it impossible to devote any considerable amount of time consecutively to the task of revision, and the writer cannot help feeling that there may be repetitions and omissions due to the necessity of continually laying aside the work for varying periods. The first part of the book, dealing with Secondary Schools, has been little altered beyond the omission of a certain amount of somewhat irrelevant matter, and the insertion in its place of a chapter on Fire Protection and rather fuller treatment of Training Colleges, Pupil Teachers' Centres, Cost of School Buildings, &c.
