I received the used textbook in great condition: not a mark on it or in it. It's absolutely worth it to buy college textbooks with Alibris. The prices are much better than any used book price from school. The delivery time is about a week which is fine if you order the book as soon as you receive your class reading list. This textbook is written for the student with a basic knowledge of science. It may be too simple or anecdotal for the upper level student with a science concentration. Good breakdown of information in chapters, excellent diagrams, and chapter reviews. The author provides a website where more information can be accessed. One drawback: the author seems a bit obsessed with bioterrorism references. Other than that, the book is a good overall introduction to microbiology. Fairly comprehensive on a basic level.
