And for this reason, I presume, the Howard bear Warren in the third quarter, Z 2 and Brooke, was Seme de France, a la bordure T Angleterre $ but in the pedigree belonging to Sir George Warren, it is gules, a chief argent, over all an efcarbuncle of eight rays pometty and dowry or, with the baton as a mark of bastardy; which mark I take to have been a mere fancy of and before Mowbray, though the latter brought in the former; and both families omit Fitz Alan who first married the heiress of Warren, and through whom they both claim; unless (which possibly may be the cafe) the lion (the fourth quartering) which for centuries past has been in the Howard arms, and laid to be for Mowbray, was designed for Albini (i. e.
