But of later Times, this formal Way of Summons by Letter to KnightsCompanions attending at the Court, hath been left off (yet continued to such as are remote) and Notice given N 4 -' them them by a verbal Message only: For the Chancellor of the Order having known the Sovereigns Pleasure, as to the Day and Place, usually.
