The book traces the radical changes in McCubbin 's work after he viewed the works of JMW Turner, Claude Monet, and John Constable in London and Paris in 1907, and seeks to redefine this important Australian artist, showing the way he developed a freer and more expressive art through his handling of paint and use of bright glowing colors.
