A mathematics professional development program for inclusive classrooms Developed by the Education Development Center and Bank Street College of Education, this research-based professional development program will show general and special education teachers how to collaborate to provide a high-quality, standards-based mathematics education to all students, including those with disabilities. The Math for All learning experiences will help teachers: Assess students' strengths and needs Use multiple instructional strategies to teach specific math concepts Tailor lessons based on individual students' strengths and needs to help them achieve high-quality learning outcomes in mathematics Math for All emphasizes how the neurodevelopmental demands of a math lesson interact with individual students' strengths and needs. The program is designed to provide step-by-step guidance for adapting materials, activities, and instructional strategies to make lessons accessible to all students. An extensive facilitation guide provides detailed background and support for leading five, day-long (30 hours total) professional learning sessions. The accompanying participant book includes the handouts for use by teams of general and special education teachers, math coaches, instructional support specialists and aides. Accompanying video clips provide case examples of specific math lessons for team analysis, reflection, and application.
