Glands 5, entire or 2-lobed, usually adnate to the staminal ring, or obsolete. Ovary entire, 3 - 5 celled; styles 3 - 5, free or more or less connate, stigmas terminal; ovules 1 or 2, inserted in the inner angle of the cells, anatropous, pendulous. Fruit usually splitting into 3 - 5 cocci, rarely a drupe.
