A special feature of this method is that it teaches both flatpicking and fingerstyle solo accompaniment techniques. Book 1B covers the keys of D, A, E, F, D minor, and B flat. In addition, book 1B has over 130 solos and duets and over 40 comprehensive scale and picking studies. Numerous chord progression studies and chord accompaniment pieces and etudes are also included. A companion double compact disc set is available for this book. The recordings present an eclectic assortment of guitar styles played on steel string guitar, nylon string guitar and electric guitar. Some of the selections feature fingerpicking; others feature the use of the flatpick. The keys covered on this recording are D, A, E, F, D minor, and B flat. Both CD's contain over 100 minutes of recorded guitar solo and duet material.
