Guitarist Fareed Haque's second CD as a leader (for the short-lived Pangaea label) puts his classical-sounding acoustic guitar in poppish and funky settings, along with some more lyrical and straight-ahead sections. Other than "Ain't No Sunshine," all of the music was written by Haque and/or his sidemen, who include electric guitarist John Adair and keyboardist Jim Simon. Well-played but not overly memorable post-bop music that is open to other influences. ~ Scott Yanow, Rovi
