true story with a couple of fictional characters added . My brother wanted a copy of this book so I read it before giving him the copy. I was hooked from page one,
Great true story!
This novel was based on the true story of George Anson's circumnavigation of the globe back in the 1740s. The author adds fictional characters to make a novel out of the story, but the true parts are the most interesting. It is an amazing story of death and survival, the sea battles taking a back seat to the incredible journey to get half way around the world to fight. This is one the best efforts from a prolific and popular but now almost forgotten author.
