As a teenager I found Christianity to be unsatisfactory for seeking higher levels of awareness. That began a long trial and error search of alternative methods. 40 years later I have found what I was looking for. This is a short book with much practical advice. Early on he recommends learning relaxation. He gives examples of how to practice relaxation. Relaxation should be an ongoing practice and will take months before you are where you need to be. He then recommends learning concentration and meditation. These exercises should be practiced ongoing and steadily for a year before you will be where you need to be. He makes it easy to see that my problem was looking for quick and easy results. There are other spiritual practices in this book, but the recommendation is to learn relaxation, concentration and meditation first.
