What a story!! My copy is from 1910, what a beauty, pictures and all. Not much like the Lana Turner movie, the story is much more tragic, although the crux of the story is the same.
It is a story that trenscends time. A mother forced to leave her child is an age old story of mother-love. It could be told anywhere, in any age of time. The author is heart wrenching. I could hardly see the last few pages through tears!! It is an easy read, very moving, very true. Betrayal, sacrifice and love...undying love. Beautifully written! Enjoy!
