A nobel attempt by an excellent playwright to produce a documentary piece. I tend ot dislike documentary theater, but I think this play in particular demonstrates the issues with the genre--there is too much going on, too many characters, and too much inauthentic commentary from the writer to make the story--when there is a coherent story line, which is not often enough, as arbitrary testimonials are inserted at innopportune moments--compelling, and although the issue is important (the fall of Romania's dictator in 1989) and underaddressed in the media, the play is problematic as a dramatic work and simply boring at times.
