Lucas was fishing editor of Sports Afield for 20+ years. Urged the use of barbless hooks to prevent unnecessary injury to fish, and to make you a better fisherman.. Bought my first copy (the 1963 edition) in 1966, while in high school. A friend and I fished many weekends, and often asked ourselves - "What would Uncle Jason do?"
When first published in 1949 fiberglass rods were just being introduced, some of the tackle may seem antiquated, but Lucas's bass fishing techniques will never go out of date.

Still Holds Up Today
My husband wanted this book because he had bought the original back in 1963 and somehow lost track of it over the years. He loves Jason Lucas. Jason's techniques are just as valid today as they were back in '63. The book is easy even for me to understand. It is also entertaining as Mr. Lucas has a way with words and phrases. A great read for bass fishermen and women.
