I've found the advice in this book to be sound and it works. I've used the principle of keeping your dignity and don't beg and plead etc in advising friends and at least two of them found new hope in having a blueprint to follow instead of the blowing wind of emotions. At last report, things were looking up. I also used some of it in my marriage, the idea that people blow hot or cold without it meaning anything. I learned to step back when my husband was distant and not to cling. Give him his space you might say.
