This book primarily walks you through an intervention,
covering every step very thoroughly. It is encouraging and empowering. I would also highly recommend their other book, No More Letting Go, which helps one see the reasons for intervention in a very clear way. Drug abuse is a family disease that can be successfully treated. The family does not have to wait until the addict "is ready".

First Love:A New Approach to Intervention for Alco
This book shows a new way of looking at helping an alcoholic from the precomtemplation stage all the way through to the maintanance phases of recovery. I believe this does not only work well for use by counselors, but also family members and people close to an alcoholic who are trying to deal with an alcoholic close to them. The information in this book can assist the professional as well as the concerned parties in finding the right way to intervene in initially addressing the course of a loved one or clients steps towards finding a way to recovery or treatment without pushing the wrong ways.
