A Sweet, Delicious Read
The author, Janette Oke, gives the reader a view of the homesteader's life. This book is an unusual love story. What makes it unusual? A man who's wife had passed away leaving him with a young daughter to raise without a mother and a woman who was expecting a baby, who's husband had also passed away, choose a marriage of convenience. A mother for his child and a father for her baby she was expecting but didn't reveal this until her pregnancy became obvious. As they face life's challenges together, their sorrow over the loss of her husband and his wife softenen and the rest I will let you read to find out. I love the author's way of giving us a glimpse of the past with its challenges and hardships. Also a glimpse of the happiness and joy that was also a part of their lives. You will fall in love with the characters of the book and look forward to the next book in the series called Love Comes Softly.

Great Read
This book started me on my journey into Janette Oke's writing. I love her style and the way she can pull you into the story. This book shows that love does make all the difference. The main characters are easy to identify with. The setting seems just perfect for the story to unfold.

This is the first in the Love Comes Softly. If you read this book you will be hooked forever. It is such a great book.
