My daughter who is 5 years old loves Astrid Lindgren and this book was almost as good as The Noisy Village series for her. The character, Lotta shows independance and strong will which are traits that my daughter has and enjoys hearing in her stories. My son who is almost 8 years old read this along with us and enjoyed it too. The only draw back is that it way too short.
