Hardcover, original green cloth, gold lettering, foliate spine, mustard floral endpapers, 285 pp + 20 pp publisher's catalogue ("Publications for Young People"), illustrated with 5 plates, all present. Good+, no dustjacket. Corners bumped, boards rubbed along edges, some soil on cloth with a faint previous owner's rubber signature stamp on front board, spine moderately darkened, with a bit of the gold rubbed, dust darkening top edge of textblock. Internally, front and rear hinges cracked with gauze exposed, first free front endpaper detached (still present), 1 inch chip off upper corner of front paste-down endpaper, previous owner's bookplate and his rubber stamp on front endpapers, top edge of frontispiece, another plate, and two or three pages of text, paper lightly age yellowed, with a few rare stray spots of foxing, 1 or 2 dogears, otherwise tight, clean, relatively crisp and unmarked. Thrilling adventures in the Wild West, with cowboys, gold miners, etc., including an interesting chapter, "The Medicine Man" in which a Shoshone shaman cures a warrior. Children's; western.
