This is an intelligent, skeptical look at the legend of Atlantis. de Camp discusses the origins and mutations of the Atlantis story with clear detail and dry wit. He doesn't merely dismiss the wilder flights of fancy, but exposes them to the clear light of reason. I can NOT recommend this book for the wide-eyed true believer, but it is one of the best and most thorough non-fiction works on the subject for anyone who wants actual, unbiased facts.
