Lost Chicano Oldies certainly deserves its title; virtually all of these groups were far under the radar of most soul or Latin fans during their late-'60s and early-'70s heyday. The sound is dodgy and the performances are maudlin to an extreme rarely seen even in these circles, but there are a few nuggets for anyone desperate to hear more brown-eyed soul, including "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You" by Hector Rivera & the Latin Renaissance and "Life" by Cortez & the Entertainers. ~ John Bush, Rovi
