In this book we will explore the various aspects of what Jesus taught about prayer and power in prayer. Admittedly, there is nothing brilliant or complex here. Yet, this book discusses central building blocks to understand prayer. We look at questions like, 'What is prayer?' and 'What are the foundations for prayer?' Then we move on to basics from the Lord's Prayer and the core practices of prayer: asking, abiding, and persisting. Then we survey our platform for power in prayer. From there we touch on topics like fighting the devil, helping others and working the harvest in prayer. No discussion of prayer is complete without addressing some of the malfunctions we face in prayer. This book is not meant to be comprehensive. Instead, it is meant to cover the basics for a life of prayer. The theme throughout is that we learn to pray as we look to Jesus to teach us. Following these truths is how we rise above mediocrity in prayer and experience what Jesus intended when he said, "Pray, then, in this way."
