"Longing For Darkness" is a wonderful "travelogue" of one woman's search for meaning and connection, while living the "ordinary" life. The author's honesty, compassion and humbleness allows the reader to be a part of her struggle for wholeness in this fragmented world.
I really like the way the author wove together the many threads of Western and Eastern spiritual practices and traditions, making a tapestry that gives a face and personality to the female aspect of Spirit.
"Longing For Darkness" is a book of integrity that is both insightful and inspirational.

Tara and the Black Madonna
This is a great travel narrative. It combines the personal desires and fears of the author, with great historical information on the Buddhist Goddess Tara, and the representation of the Madonna as a black woman in older Catholic imagery.
Moving, political, and looking for the essence of compassion in humanity, I have bought several copies of this book since I first read it and passed them on to others.
