When a person describes themselves as "nephesh," does it meant that they are choosing to describe themselves in association with a part or organ of the body? Is one able to draw conclusions from this mental concept that stands behind this word? Finally, is "nephesh" an important tool for understand what a human being is to be associated, in anthropological terms, with a specific part of the composite body? German description: In diesem Buch wird die Rolle der nAefAes in den Menschenvorstellungen des AT umfassend untersucht. Mit Hilfe der Analyse konzeptueller Metonymien, einer Methodik aus der Kognitiven Linguistik, wird u.a. folgenden Fragen nachgegangen: Verbirgt sich hinter nAefAes eine Seelenvorstellung?
