One of the dominant sounds of this album is a rich, funky organ and clavinet combo that appears on most of the tracks, excepting only the brief purely electronic glitch-oriented interlude "Return to Hokkaido." Elsewhere, as on the opening "From Brown to Green" and "From Green to Brown," the rounded, burnished organ sound anchors the songs, often integrated with the electronic detritus of glitch, as on the hypnotic "Kiu_Kiu," where a malfunctioning, skipping sound slowly develops into the song's basic rhythm and eventually its primary hook.
