Live at the Cave: Vancouver Canada 1970 features pianist Duke Ellington and his orchestra in concert at the Cave Restaurant in Vancouver, B.C. This is an excellent document of late-period Ellington when he was working with Hammond B-3 master Wild Bill Davis, who also supplied many arrangements. Live at the Cave also features some of last performances of saxophonist Johnny Hodges, who passed away the same year this was recorded. This is a swinging, soulful live album. ~ Matt Collar, Rovi
