This is a beautiful book and one of my son's favourites. We first checked it out of the library and he loved it so much that I wanted to get him a copy of his own. It is a perfect bedtime book, with simple language and lovely illustrations that show both tenderness and joy. For children who live in the city this book is especially valuable, as it shows the work that goes into farming, but also the pleasures of growing your own food and sharing it with family and friends. A real delight.
