It's the required textbook for a class so I wasn't expecting much. In fact, though, it might actually be the best part of the class. I wanted recommendations for building a classroom library and the book has hundreds of summaries and reviews of books, including some published very recently. It also includes useful information about the similarities and differences between genres. And it's written in a conversational way that's easy to read.
