Hardback bound in full leather-covered boards with gilt decorations on front and back, gilt title on the spine, gilt dentelle around book edges and marbled end pages. Book has a small scuff on the front with rubs along the spine and the corners. Internally clean, tight and unmarked. This book was printed and bound by photo-lithographic process with 25 page introduction prepared by Dr. Cyrus Adler, Librarian of the Smithsonian Institute. 9, 000 copies were prepared for the use of Congress-3, 000 copies for Senate members and 6, 000 copies for House members. The so-called "Jefferson Bible", more accurately "The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth" was acquired by United States National Museum in 1895. Includes the fold-out map.
