Faint penciled contemporary ownership signature of Lizzie Blanpied, light rubbing on the boards, very near fine. Account of the life and education of Laura Bridgman (1829-1889), who was the first blind-deaf person to receive a formal education and whose longtime residence at the Perkins Institution for the Blind influenced a generation of students, including Anne Sullivan (who went on to fame as Helen Keller's teacher). Almost always found very well-worn.
