Seller's Description:
Near Fine in Near Fine jacket. Very nice copy; embossed stamp of previous owner on endpaper; memoir of American guerilla leader in the Philippines during the war.
History repeats itself today, where are the heros.
Ramsey's deeply personal story is a real page turner. So many astounding things happened in his life. Meeting a Hitler youth at Okla U meant nothing at the time, but spoke volumes later. Seeing a Japanese spy in Hawaii another hint of the tragedy to come. Courage not to surrender at Bataan, almost unbearable living conditions in the Philippine jungle, astounding leadership in the resistance movement. Loss of so many friends. No wonder he did not write it until he saw the USA falling for the enemies same old tricks.
I mailed this book to a friend.

Lieutenant Ramsey's War
Well written and researched book. It reads like a novel. Detailed and comprehensive account of a man who was part of the last Cavalry charge made by the US Army, and then ably and heroically led a guerrilla group in the Philippines from 1942 through 1945 against the Japanese Army.
A must for specialists in World War II. Of special interest to service personnel and military historians. Of general interest to other historians.

Phillipine Adventure
Mr. Ramsey recreates a time and place that has been overlooked. I found it an engaging story; entertaining, informative and hard to put down. I am glad I read it and whole-heartedly recommend "Lt. Ramsey's War" to any one interested in history in general and that of the Phillipines in particular.
