Inscribed by Baltz to Gus Blaiesdell on the front blank: "Gus-Pardon my French. XXXOOO Luigi." Blaisdell provided the essay for *San Quentin*, a book in Baltz's famous trilogy; in addition to his work as a critic, Blaisdell was an author, teacher, publisher, editor, and bookstore owner. Catalog for a retrospective of Baltz's work at the Musée d'Art de la Moderne de Ville de Paris, titled "Rule Without Exception." The show was held March-May, 1993. Issued as Classiques du XXI?
