Les premi???res lettres sont donc des lettres d'affaire qui traitent des probl???mes courants; mais au cours des ans cette correspondance va se diver-sifier; surtout apr???s la cessation de la parution de La Reconnais-sance Africaine, elles abordent m???me des probl???mes familiaux et personnels, tant du c???t??? de Paul Hazoum??? que de celui d'Aupiais. Cette correspondance va durer jusqu'en 1936, et compter 80 lettres conserv???es par la famille Hazoum???. Ce sont des documents d'archives historiques qui nous permettent aujourd'hui de con-naitre et de comprendre ces deux personnes, dans leur environ-nement culturel, social, religieux, mais aussi l'histoire politique et religieuse du Dahomey d'alors.
