L'inventaire des archives capitulaires dresse en 1767 par Pier Luigi Galletti se terminait avec les archives de Clairac et la derniere piece de ce fonds etait un obituaire, absent du Repertoire des documents necrologiques francais publie en 1980 (XY. 35). Les deux textes publies ici sont pratiquement, avec quelques chartes conservees dans les archives du Latran, les seules epaves du chartrier medieval de l'abbaye. Ils renferment 544 notices, redigees dans un latin souvent mele de gascon ou d'occitan, particulierement riches en notations sur les defunts et leurs fondations, allant jusqu'a renvoyer aux instruments publics confectionnes par les notaires du bourg, avec leurs dates. Si les laics, hommes et femmes, de Clairac et des villages voisins sont les plus nombreux, les religieux de l'abbaye sont egalement bien representes, abbes, moines et officiers de l'abbaye, prieurs des prieures dependants, avec quelques seculiers, comme un archeveque de Bordeaux ou un eveque d'Agen. C'est toute une societe active entre la fin du XIIIe et le milieu du XIVe siecle qui apparait au fil des jours, dont on ne savait pratiquement rien jusqu'a present, faute de sources. Un inventaire des archives de l'abbaye dresse a la fin du XVIIIe siecle, egalement retrouve dans le fonds de Clairac par Louis Duval-Arnould (XY. 13), donnant l'analyse de 1861 actes dates entre 1200 et 1735, a egalement pu etre mis a profit pour l'annotation de ce texte, qui est aussi le seul obituaire medieval conserve pour le diocese d'Agen.
