Auf Basis einer breit angelegten qualitativ-empirischen Untersuchung in Dienstleistungs- und Industrieunternehmen zeigen die Autoren, wie solche Anspruche eine permanente Bewertungs- und Vergleichsarbeit der Beschaftigten anleiten und welche Legitimationsprobleme und Gerechtigkeitskonflikte dadurch entstehen konnen. Das Anspruchsspektrum umfasst moralische Erwartungen an Leistungsgerechtigkeit, Beteiligung, Selbstverwirklichung, Fursorge und Wurde, die sich mit technisch-funktionalen, burokratischen und okonomischen Rationalitatsanspruchen verbinden. Die typischen Anspruchsmuster haben wenig mit dem "neuen Geist des Kapitalismus" oder einem neoliberalen Ich-Unternehmertum zu tun, sondern belegen Nachhaltigkeit wie Irritation von Arbeitsnormen, die sich im Horizont von Normalarbeitsverhaltnis und Berufsethos bewegen. Bei Anspruchsverletzungen kann es zu Legitimitatskrisen und interessenpolitischer Aktivierung kommen. Zugleich finden sich Anzeichen der De-Legitimierung: normative Erwartungen an Erwerbsarbeit werden zuruckgenommen.
