Since being scourged by the liberal news media & press during his candidacy for US Vice President, Lemay's monumental contributions to winning WWII, creating SAC, & providing for America's defense during the Cold War have been largely overlooked and unappreciated. This fine biography takes significant steps to remedy the typical prejudice of the mass media while illustrating the second to none talent and accomplishment of Curtis Lemay.
Lemay is a significant personage in US history who is long overdue for appreciation.
Tillman's book is also highly readable, albeit highly condensed. However, the intent of the book was to provide a short biography. Perhaps a more complete biography would render complete justice to this major figure of modern America.
