This release, Le Monde selon George Antheil ("The World According to George Antheil"), offers a good example of her talents and fits her personality beautifully. Composer Antheil was a fascinating figure from the second quarter of the 20th century who brought a certain American brashness to his early futurist orientation. Kopatchinskaja does well to place Antheil in context; the curious title The World According to George Antheil refers to how the program consists of music that influenced Antheil and music that he himself influenced.
