Space will not allow us to enlarge on this great subject, which has been ably treated by Jacob Grimm, Dr. Adalbert Kuhn, and many other German writers, and of which an excellent re'sume' is given in Kelly's Curiosities of indo-european Tradition and Folk-lore.
